On the Misuse of Anti-Semitism

Please have a look and read this book with an open mind and decide for yourself:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/184467049X/ref=ord_cart_shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

In this long-awaited follow-up to his bestselling Holocaust Industry Norman G. Finkelstein assesses recent claims that widespread anti-Semitism informs criticism of the state of Israel, provocatively suggesting that the controversy surrounding the question is contrived by apologists and based on fabricated evidence. Systematic research shows this to be true in all cases, including that of Alan Dershowitz’s bestseller The Case for Israel.

Examining the genuine scholarship on the history of Israel, he finds that there exists a consensus among serious historians and human rights experts on the factual record, a consensus which shows conclusively that Israel’s human rights record is illegal and shameful for any state with a pretence to democracy, and that well-known public intellectuals have resorted to the promulgation of known untruths in its defence. These facts, supported by exemplary research and scholarship, will be unpalatable for many, but must be universally recognised for there to be any chance of a just and lasting peace in the area. - son of Ibrahim

1. Being anti-Jew does not denote an anti-semite, as Arabs are also a semite people.
2. Are Muslims anti-Semitic? Based upon the point above they couldn't be otherwise they would hold their own prophet in contempt.
3. To abhor and reject falsehood regardless of whether a person is Jewish, Christian, Muslim etc has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, it is theologically based.
4. If rejecting and refuting theological Jewish beliefs is anti-Semetic, does that mean we are not allowed to challenge Jewish beliefs (radicalism?)?
5. If it is proved Jewish sources lied, how is that anti-semetic, surely only polemic?

I am not implying that twentysomthin is a bit too touchy about anything Jewish as there could be a number of reasons for the question, but it seems that Jews are a bit too sensitive to any debate or discussion about them or their theology. Either they know they're wrong or they have something to hide. As Abbas Dhami writes in his article, there is a big difference between discussing and questioning compared to insulting. We should not be scared to discuss theological matters, even Jewish, even though many (usually zionists) would rather bypass any subject about themselves often using the holocaust (randomly) as a get out clause. - AK

Anti-semetic?

A friend of mine said Allah cursed the Jews many times, and from them, because of what the author indicates - they changed their scriptures and lied. The reason I'm asking is that many people are anti-semitic and this charge is also levelled at Muslims. - twentysomthin

mashallah a really good article that exposes people before us that went astray. I find it extremely annoying when I hear Christians and Jews talk about their faith, knowing that they pick and choose what suits them from their deens. I pray Allah rectify them and expose their falsehood. - Dainna
