Kitab al-Tawhid Commentary |
Refi Shafi
 Fath al-Majid is a well-known commentary to Kitab al-Tawhid. It's author is Shaykh `Abdu'l-Rahman ibn Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn `Abdu'l-Wahhab (d. 1285 AH / 1868 CE).

Sypnosis: deals with the importance of recognising Allah’s blessings and attributing them to Him, Most High. It is not befitting for the recipient of blessings to attribute them to others, forgetting the One in whose hand lies all good. |

Sypnosis: commences a series of chapters that deal with the notion of setting up ‘partner-gods’ with Allah, having due propriety in all aspects of our relationship with our Lord, Most High, and avoiding anything that may suggest shirk, albeit subtly. |

What is Reported Concerning Someone who is not
Persuaded by an Oath Taken by Allah |

Sypnosis: deals with the entity used when swearing on oaths. It emphasises the importance of showing due veneration to Allah and the place that He has in the Muslims’ heart. The chapter also highlights the importance of being truthful and having fine conduct. |

| Chapter 44: |
'Whatever Allah willed and you willed.' |

| |
Sypnosis: deals with ascribing knowledge to Allah alone, and continues the theme of the previous chapter. It shows that swearing by any object besides Allah is to display a level of veneration to that object which is unbefitting. It also shows that we must show due propriety, not just in our beliefs, but in the very words we use when talking about Allah. |

Whoever Abuses Time has Derogated Allah |

Sypnosis: continues the same theme and discusses the prohibition of cursing time and Allah, the Most High's relationship to it. It also explores the notion that "Allah is time". |

The Appellation ‘Judge of Judges’ and the likes |

| |
Sypnosis: explores the usage of grand titles such as 'king of kings' or 'judge of judges'. As the chapter discusses, man must constantly be aware of Allah's supremacy and humble himself in respect to his Creator, the chapter also shows the various methods Islam has put in place to preserve Tawhid and prevent shirk. |

| Chapter 47: |
Revering the Names of Allah
& Changing One’s Name as a Result

Sypnosis: continues the theme of revering Allah and bearing in mind His supremacy. It discusses a range of issues such as changing one's name or choosing a kunya, and addresses reverence for Allah's Names and Attributes as well as affirming Tawhid al-Asma’ wa’l-Sifat. |

Someone who Mocks Anything Containing the Mention of Allah,
or the Qur’an, or the Messenger

Sypnosis: discusses mockery of Allah, the Qur'an and His Messenger. This topic is extremely pertinent for Muslims who live in the West as they can find themselves among those who mock the religion of Islam. Additionally, some Muslims use the religion as a source of jokes which can lead to extremely severe consequences in this life and the Hereafter. |

Sypnosis: uses a verse of the Qur'an to demonstrate that Allah is the giver of everything and man only succeeds due to the grace of Allah, Most High. It is a stark reminder that pride and arrogance will lead one to the Hell-fire. |

| |
Sypnosis: continues the theme of the previous chapter and stresses that it is Allah who blesses one with children. It further discusses the difference between shirk in obedience and shirk in worship. Additionally, the author writes about the impermissibility of naming one's offspring with names such as Abdu’l-Ka`bah and the likes. |
