During an interview with Syrian News Channel known as Alikhbaria Syria, Issam Zahruddin a top Syrian commander made some shocking remarks. Zahruddin is a Major General of the elite Presidential Republican Guard of Bashar Al-Assad in the city of Deir al-Zour. According to a new report, the Prevent strategy is "built on a foundation of Islamophobia and racism". The report also states that the strategy is "ineffective and counterproductive" and should be repealed.
