Condolences to Imām Shakeel Begg

By Editor 13 Raj 35 ◦︎ 12 May 14

To Allāh we belong and to Him we return.

The Muslim Research and Development Foundation and the Islam21c team would like to offer their sincere condolences to the family of Humayun Begg, who passed away last night.  He was a well-known member of the Muslim community in the Forest Hill area of London, and among is children is our very own Imām, Shakeel Begg.

We optimistically beseech Allāh to forgive all of his sins and make his grave from among the gardens of Paradise, and make his children an unending source of reward for him.  We are reminded that Abū Hurayrah (May Allāh be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) said,

“When a child of Ādam dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jāriyah (ceaseless charity); knowledge [that he left behind] which is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him.”[1]

The janāza prayer for Mirza Humayun Begg (May Allah have mercy on him) will take place on Wednesday the 30th of April after Dhur Salah at 1.30pm at Lewisham Islamic Centre: 363-365 Lewisham High Street, London, SE13 6NZ – TEL 02086905090. The burial will take place at The Gardens of Peace Cemetery, Elmbridge Rd, Hainault, Ilford, EssexIG6 3SW

Please leave your messages of condolence and support in the comments below.

Amīn. His children and grandchildren are also well established and active members of the Muslim community māshā’Allāh. This is a good sign inshā’Allāh, and we ask Allāh to make them shining lights for him on the Day of Judgement.
