Once again, the apartheid state war machine has mercilessly targeted children, planting sorrow and death in the once tranquil and now besieged city of Gaza. At the break of dawn today, while the world was still in slumber, 40 aircraft swooped down upon civilian targets, resulting in the appalling loss of at least 13 Palestinian lives, including 10 children and women. Among the victims of tonight’s onslaught was young Mayar Az-Deen and her brother, Ali, as their home became the epicentre of an airstrike just hours before Fajr. They had been basking in the security and love of their parents, only to have it shattered by Zionist planes.
“Pioneers and Leaders”
Gaza, already beleaguered, continues to suffer at the hands of Zionist mercenaries, annihilating everything in their path – happiness, tranquillity, and even the innocence of childhood, all subjected to these missiles of terror.
Mayar and Ali had eagerly anticipated a journey with their schoolmates, aptly named “Pioneers and Leaders”, seeking moments of joy and delight. Little did they know that their journey would lead them to the Eternal Abode!
Their father, the martyr Tarek Az-Deen, and their mother, a freed prisoner exiled from the town of Arraba in the Jenin District, are accused by the Zionists of being military commanders within the ranks of al-Quds Brigades and allegedly being responsible for operations in Jenin against occupying forces that routinely infiltrate the camp. A teacher robbed of their students
The heartbroken teacher of Mayar and Ali found herself unable to fathom the depths of this tragedy, questioning with a heavy heart,
“Why did you depart, Ali? Why did you leave us, Mayar?”
