Islam21c can confirm that the 1st of Dhul Hijjah 1441 will be on Wednesday – corresponding to 22 July 2020 – based on expert testimonials.

The official declaration of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is expected shortly, inshāAllāh.

It was narrated from ‘Abd-Allāh ibn ‘Umar (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said:

“The month is twenty-nine days, so do not fast until you see it, and if it is cloudy then complete the month as thirty days.”

Based on this narration, since, the moon of 1st of Dhul Hijjah 1441 has not been sighted tonight, we will end the month of Dhul Qa’da 1441 tomorrow at Maghrib and start the 1st of Dhul Hijjah on Wednesday.

Yaum Arafah (9th of Dhul Hijjah 1441) will correspond to Thursday 30th July inshāAllāh.

Eid al-Adhā (10th of Dhul Hijjah 1441) will correspond to Friday 31st July inshāAllāh.

The first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah have been singled out especially for great merits and excellences like no other days in the Islamic calendar. Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, has chosen to dispense infinite spiritual blessing and rewards.

Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” The people asked, “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said,

“Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out, giving himself and his wealth up for the cause (of Allah), and came back with nothing.”

The Islam21c team would like to take this blessed occasion to pray that Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) bestows the Muslims across the globe a safe, secure and blessed Dhul Hijjah and ‘Eid al-Adhā. May Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) have mercy on those who are suffering, grant them patience, victory and bring them justice in the Dunya and Ākhira, Āmīn.
