‘Eid al-Fitr 1439 announced

By Hamad Momin 30 Ram 39 ◦︎ 14 Jun 18

Taqabbal Allāhu minnā wa minkum sālihal-a’māl

Islam21c can confirm that ʿEid al-Fitr 1439 will be on Friday – corresponding to 15th June 2018 – based on expert testimonials. As the majority of Muslims in the UK follow Saudi Arabia in starting and ending Ramaḍān, tomorrow will be the day of ʿEid.  The official declaration of the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is expected shortly, inshāAllāh.

May Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) accept our siyām, our qiyām, our duʿā’, our charity and all our ʿIbādah, Āmīn.

ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhumā) reported Allāh’s Messenger (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) as saying:

The month (of Ramaḍān) may consist of twenty nine days; so when you see the new moon observe fast and when you see (the new moon again at the commencement of the month of Shawwāl) then break it, and if the sky is cloudy for you, then calculate it (and complete thirty days).[1]

Based on this narration, since, the crescent of 1st of Shawwāl 1439 has been sighted tonight, we will end the month of Ramaḍān 1439 on Thursday at Maghrib and celebrate ʿEid al-Fitr on Friday inshāAllāh.

Don’t forget to pay your Zakāh al-Fitr! This is a small donation that is to be given before the ʿEid salāh. If you have not paid Zakāh al-Fitr for any members of your family, please do so here. If you have any questions on Zakāh al-Fitr please click here to read our Zakāh al-Fitr Q&A by Shaikh (Dr) Haitham Al-Haddad.

The Islam21c team would like to take this blessed occasion to wish you all ʿEid Mubarak! We pray that Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) bestows the Muslims across the globe a safe, secure and blessed ʿEid. May Allāh (subḥānahu wa taʿālā) have mercy on those who are suffering, grant them patience, victory and bring them justice in the Dunya and Ākhira, Āmīn.

We would also like to thank all of you who have donated generously to support Islam21c. Alḥamdulillāh with the help of Allāh and your support we have been able to raise £34,849.01 this Ramaḍān. For all those who missed out and have not had the chance you can still contribute! End Ramaḍān in the best way and give charity now by making a donation to Islam21c here.
