“I seek protection only from Allah”

On this day in 1965, Malcolm X (raḥimahu Allāhu) was assassinated aged 39.

In the final week of his death after his home was firebombed, he was asked: “Do you think the NYPD are providing you with adequate protection or are you in need of your own security for protection?”

Malcolm responded by saying: “I seek protection only from Allah.”
