UN General Assembly: Israeli envoy walks out after President Erdoğan’s criticism

Representatives of “Israel” who attended the United Nations General Assembly in person walked out of the hall during Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s address that included a harsh criticism of “Israel”.[1]

The Turkish leader censured “Israel’s” policies towards Palestine as “oppression, violence and intimidation for more than half a century” in a pre-recorded speech that was aired to the attendees of the Assembly.

Israeli ambassador to the UN, Gilad Erdan, left his seat and proceeded to walk out after hearing his remarks.

Footage of the walkout was later distributed by “Israel’s” mission, along with a statement from Erdan who said:

“Erdogan continues to spout anti-Semitic and false statements against Israel. It is important that the world recognizes the double moral standard he has lived by for many years.”[2]

In addition to lauding the Palestinian people for not bowing down in the face of adversity inflicted by “Israel”, President Erdoğan said that “the order of occupation and oppression in Palestine, which is the bleeding wound of humanity, continues to hurt consciences.”

President Erdoğan added:

“The dirty hand that reaches the privacy of Jerusalem, where the sacred places of the three great religions coexist, is constantly increasing its audacity.”

President Erdoğan also dismissed the Trump peace plan as a “document of surrender” that was imposed on Palestine under the name of ‘Deal of the Century’. President Erdoğan vowed that “Turkey will not support any plan that the Palestinian people do not give consent to.”

He also made a subtle reference to the Gulf states – including the UAE and Bahrain – who have recently normalised their relations with “Israel”.

“Participation of some countries of the region in this game does not mean anything beyond serving Israel’s efforts to erode basic international parameters. Countries that have declared their intention to open embassies in Jerusalem, in violation of the United Nations resolutions and international law, only serve to make the conflict more complicated with their actions.”

President Erdoğan further stressed that “the Palestinian conflict can only be resolved with the establishment of an independent, sovereign, and contiguous Palestine based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.”

“Seeking solutions other than this are in vain, one-sided, and unjust.”

  1. Erdogan says Israel is a ‘oppressor’. If Israel are oppressors, why does his Turkey not only recognise Israel but also have deep economic and diplomatic ties since Israel’s birth?

Erdogan should not condemn the UAE and Bahrain for things his own government have done for decades.

    • Brother, Turkey in many aspects is worse than Arab countries but you shouldn’t judge just based on the current state. You should see beyond that. The course is very important. Turkey’s legacy was an anti-islamic secularism from which it is trying to get rid off wheres Arab countries are rushing to it. Turkey is harshening in its position towards Israel whereas arabs are softening and surrendering.
Erdoğan with his policy has proven this many times.

      • That is a grand strategy let’s use democracy to get rid off democracy secular
Erdogan policy is not here to bring back islam it is there for his political goals same with all the other Muslim parties using democracy
By the way what turkey is doing even bangladesh at its absolute worse are doing the same so its nothing special from them
