In light of the Gaza genocide, the question in the mind of many is: does the “West” even have a conscience, a set of values, or principles? Or did they all die on 7th October 2023?
Had the West not had what some commentators argue is one of the most savage of histories, one might possibly argue its complicity with aiding and abetting genocide against the Palestinian people was a one-off!
Western history is stained with blood
This has been the case throughout history.
Look at the barbaric Crusades (11th-13th century), look at colonialism (15th-20th century), the Black Slave Trade (16th-19th century), and the ethnic cleansing of millions of Indigenous peoples from the 16th to the 20th century.
And colonial projects of recent times bring us right up to date:
- Drone operations conducted in Afghanistan, Yemen, and Pakistan.
- It so easily killed in excess of one million Iraqis for oil, based upon a lie.
- Human rights abuses including torture in Abu Ghraib and Guantánamo Bay.
- Associated extraordinary rendition and secret global prison programmes.
- Support for nefarious dictators alongside a zeal for regime change.
What about Palestine?
Western complicity in the shape of aiding and abetting genocide or ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians didn’t begin on 7th October 2023.
The West has been providing political, military, and financial cover to Zionism from its very inception.
Zionism, ethnic cleansing, the Nakba, organised gang terrorism, and the theft of Palestinian land were all designed, made, and developed with the British colonialists ever since the 19th century!
October 7 exposed the West’s façade
The livestream of genocide and Western complicity has left it truly exposed, with nowhere to hide from its sheer hypocrisy and outright disregard for Palestinian human life.
In fact, all of its institutions have been laid bare as nothing more than a colonial master’s tool set. Certainly, Western governments, legislatures, and politicians have demonstrated their loyalties to the Zionist cause.
And mainstream Western media has been exposed as a conduit to genocide. It can never be trusted — what with its Zionist bias, outright lies and fabrication, and misinformation, this combination has rendered it nothing less than an IDF (Israel Defense Forces) mouthpiece.
Moreover, Western institutions representing so-called international law, justice, and arbitration, have all been rendered dysfunctional, worthless, and ignored.
Western intelligence and associated technology has been sabotaged to sanction terror on personal devices, making them a walking talking apparatus of the state.
Military equipment, fighter jets, drones, and “dumb” bombs have erased the existence of life in Gaza, the West Bank, in wider Palestine, and for the past month, Lebanon.
West’s rhetoric dead and buried forever
In short, nothing is sacrosanct. Everything is fair game in war.
Life. Animals. Vegetation. Food. Water. Electricity. Power. Starvation.
Anything. Everything. What is being witnessed is no less than an apocalyptic scorched-Earth policy sponsored by the West.
But the days of Western rhetoric concerning human rights, law, justice, international order, and “policing the world” are truly dead and buried.
It is as good as dead, but the only debate is whether it was ever alive or fit to lead humanity — which its history shows it clearly wasn’t!
Humanity at large has woken up. Millions from the West who have spoken out against their governments complicity in genocide and war repeatedly realise its true colonial agenda is never ending and neither is it fit for purpose.
One Western principle that has endured
The only consistent principle that has underlined centuries of barbarism, Western colonialism, imperial wars, global suffering, and which continues today in Palestine, is colonial self-interest and benefit.
Lord Palmerston, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 1855-1858 and 1859-1865, put it best:
“We have no eternal allies, and we have no perpetual enemies.
“Our interests are eternal and perpetual, and those interests it is our duty to follow.” [1]
Islam remains the one and only answer
It is clear that 7 October 2023 was the last straw for the West, it broke the camel’s back the world over.
It is for this reason that — in today’s global disorder, injustice, and bloodthirsty world — it is only Islam, thanks to its divine revelation, that can bring together humanity.
It is only Islam that is capable of bringing forth harmony and true justice, while ensuring that Muslims, Jews, Christians, and people of no faith — whether in Palestine or the world over — can once again live together.

Excellent article
This leaves a void for humanity. The so called idols of the west I.e. thier values and institutions, Democracy, freedoms, UN,ICJ, women’s rights, children rights, IMF, nation states, international law etc etc have been proved to be false.
This is a very good opportunity for the Muslim community to raise up and carry a call for an alternative system and present it to mankind.
Allah(swt) is truly merciful and generous he has given us this opportunity
