Let me be brutally honest, this Gaza “ceasefire” is not peace. Apparently taking effect on 10 October 2025, in reality it has been a slow burning genocide, rebranded for positive Western headlines. [1]
The world’s gaze has drifted away. Gaza was trending… until it wasn’t. And now? It’s being quietly suffocated. Trump’s so-called 20-point “peace plan” — the basis for the ceasefire — promised:
All military operations will be suspended.” [2]
He even boasted that the war is over, saying,
Together we achieved what everybody said was impossible. At long last, we have peace in the Middle East.” [3]
Saudi’s MBS hailed it. Pakistan’s Shehbaz Sharif welcomed it. Türkiye’s Erdoğan praised it. Arab leaders smiled for the cameras, shaking hands with Trump — as he ludicrously claimed to have solved “3,000 years of conflict”. [4]
BACKGROUND
- In the 77 years of its existence, the Zionist state has steadily eaten away at Palestine, with the current 'truce' leaving it with even more control over Gaza than before
- The latest so-called ceasefire began on 10 October, after more than two years of genocide that has taken at least 70,400 lives and may yet take 186,000
- Donald Trump and his acolytes have marketed the 'peace plan' as solving thousands of years of conflict — conveniently ignoring Israel's recent establishment and falsely claiming that Jews and Muslims have been at war for centuries
- The reality is, Orthodox Jews in and outside of Israel are overwhelmingly opposed to Israel and its actions in Palestine, but you won't hear about this
- The other key reality is, aid is still being blocked by the Zionist regime, occupation forces are still in Gaza and Palestine, and civilians are still being bombed
- Trump would like you to believe that things are perfectly peaceful, but this could not be farther from the truth
Slow genocide continues
But the reality is that since this so-called ceasefire began in early October, Israel hasn’t stopped for a single minute.
There has been no pause, no restraint, not even a breath taken. More than 1,500 buildings (the true number may be far higher) have been flattened in areas they supposedly no longer needed to attack. [5]
Over 360 civilians killed, 922 injured, and 617 bodies recovered from under rubble — of course, mostly children, women, and the elderly. On top of that, UNICEF reports two children killed every day during the ceasefire, and 67 children have been killed after the truce began. [6] [7]
This is a ceasefire in name only!
What about aid?
What aid? Israel still blocks its passage.
As of the end of October, only 10 per cent of needed medical supplies had entered Gaza. Just 90 trucks a day, even though the agreement was 600 trucks daily. [8]
Relatively speaking, things have somewhat improved since, but by all accounts the scale of the aid being received is far below that which is needed. [9]
This isn’t peace. This is controlled starvation. A slow death. A managed massacre. And Israel is continuing with airstrikes, sniper fire, arrests, incursions, and blockades.
Gazan journalist Sara Awad worded it as follows,
We survived the war, we may not survive the ceasefire … No day has passed without casualties; Israel continues to kill every day.” [10]
Western colonial plot of “peace”
So this is the West’s definition of “peace”, and this is what many Arab rulers are queuing up to sign. This is the “normalisation” they celebrate?
Because, under the current colonial framework — where the last colonial outpost, Israel, is protected at all costs — there will never be peace.
Not real peace. Not justice. Not freedom.
Gaza, Palestine, and case for caliphate
The Muslim Ummah must recognise this: we need political independence, real authority, and sincere leadership — not puppets.
We need a leadership like the caliphate, one that puts al-Aqsa, Gaza, and the Ummah at the centre of its priorities.
The ceasefire was and remains a lie. As we can clearly see, the genocide never paused. And the Ummah must not pause either!
