Islam21c is pleased to announce a new partnership with Muslims in Need, a respected UK charity dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities around the world.
This collaboration brings together shared aspirations to stand against injustice in the Ummah, uplift those facing hardship, and mobilise the Muslim community to respond with compassion and action.
And as we move through the last few nights of the blessed month of Ramadan and beyond, this partnership offers a trusted pathway for us to fulfil our Zakat obligations while ensuring their charity reaches those who need it most.
Who are Muslims in Need?
Muslims in Need is a UK-registered charity committed to delivering humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities across the globe.
Through a network of trusted partners and volunteers, the charity focuses on delivering aid directly to those facing severe hardship. This includes families affected by poverty, conflict, and displacement.
Their work prioritises transparency and adherence to Islamic principles, ensuring that charitable giving is delivered in a way that aligns with the values of Islam.
Our partnership
Through this partnership, Islam21c will help connect our audience with projects where their Zakat can have a meaningful and immediate impact, particularly in regions experiencing severe hardship.
One such initiative is the Zakat al-Māl distribution project, where Zakat funds are delivered as cash directly to eligible recipients in some of the most deprived communities.
Why we chose them
Our decision to partner with Muslims in Need was guided by several important considerations.
| Area | Details |
|---|---|
| Trust and credibility | Muslims in Need is a recognised and respected UK charity, carefully selected after reviewing its work and governance. Donors can therefore give with confidence that their Zakat is being handled responsibly. |
| Sharī’ah-compliant Zakat distribution | The Zakat distribution project supported by this campaign has received approval from the Islamic Finance Advisory (IFA), ensuring the project adheres to Islamic financial principles. |
| 100 per cent of Zakat reaches recipients | A particularly reassuring aspect of this project is 100 per cent of your Zakat reaches those in need. Administrative costs are covered through tax reclaims rather than deducted from donations. |
| Cash distribution that preserves dignity | Zakat will be distributed directly as cash, allowing recipients to choose what they need most, whether it be food, medicine, clothing, or other essentials. This approach aligns closely with classical Islamic guidance and preserves the dignity of the recipient. |
| Aid reaching the most vulnerable regions | Funds will be delivered to some of the most needy communities, including areas such as Gaza and Syria, where families continue to face immense hardship. |
| Volunteer-driven efficiency | The charity operates largely through dedicated volunteers, allowing donations to be utilised as efficiently as possible. |
| Strong local partnerships | Muslims in Need works through trusted local partners, ensuring aid reaches communities quickly, effectively, and in a culturally appropriate manner. |
Looking ahead
We are optimistic about what this partnership can achieve. By combining Islam21c’s platform with the humanitarian efforts of Muslims in Need, we hope to channel greater support towards communities facing urgent need.
Through this year’s partnership, we hope to provide a trusted avenue for Zakat that delivers real impact on the ground.
If you would like to support this initiative and have your Zakat delivered directly to those most in need, you can contribute here.
May Allah accept your charity, multiply its reward, and make it a source of relief for those in hardship. Āmīn.
