While war criminals like Blair, Netanyahu, and Gantz are given political cover, protection, and allowed to wander freely, it’s the truth-tellers and justice-seekers who are being hunted down!
From Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, to Karim Khan KC, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, to ICJ judges who dared to call Israel what it is — an apartheid, settler colony — all have faced pressure, intimidation, smear campaigns, or sanctions for simply doing their duty.
And now, the latest victim of this global witch-hunt: Sami Hamdi. [1]
BACKGROUND
- The Gaza genocide has taken the lives of an estimated 186,000 people, according to a research paper published in The Lancet last summer
- Sami Hamdi is a journalist, analyst, and one of the few independent voices unafraid to call out Western hypocrisy and Arab complicity in the destruction of Gaza
- On Sunday morning, he was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents at San Francisco Airport, and his visa was revoked
- He had been in the US on a speaking tour, and was due to deliver a talk on that same evening that he was detained
- The US State Department has foolishly claimed that he supports 'terrorism and actively undermines the safety of Americans'
Values brandished when convenient
It is clear that anyone who challenges the colonial narrative — put down by the West and its Arab-Zionist allies — risks being targeted and silenced. So much for their “free speech” and “liberty”, values they only brandish when convenient, against Muslims!
Gaza didn’t merely expose a genocide. It exposed a civilisation that calls itself free and just, but is nothing but a facade, truly dead inside, and completely hollow. When truth slips through their spin, the response is predictable: intimidate, prosecute, cancel, erase.
This arrest is nothing but a desperate attempt to silence the truth which the colonial West has failed to control, manipulate, or manage — either on- or offline. If they can’t defeat or silence you, they’ll try to lock you up.
Detain Sami Hamdi, you awaken millions
But here’s the reality they can’t grasp: arrest one truth-teller, and you create a thousand more.
You cannot imprison an idea, a conscience, or the moral clarity of a people who’ve watched Gaza for 24 months and seen the truth with their own eyes.
And we, as Muslims, never worship personalities — not even our greatest ones. Our allegiance is to the Lord of Sami Hamdi, of every believer, the One who never dies and has promised victory to the steadfast.
Allah (subḥānahu wa ta’āla) says,
Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allah at all; but Allah will reward the grateful.” [2]
So what do we do?
We get louder — legally, politically, and morally.
Increase your activism. Organise. Lobby. Educate. Protest peacefully. Hold institutions and leaders to account. Support journalists, human-rights defenders, and those illegally targeted — with legal funds, advocacy, and public pressure.
Stand with Sami Hamdi, Gaza, and all those criminalised for speaking truth. Turn intimidation into mobilisation. Turn silence into outcry. Until Palestine is free, our work continues — louder, smarter, and more united than ever.
