It’s a Ramadan sight to behold and an experience to cherish; to pray Tarawīh in full rows and to see young and old strive for the treasures of this month. Whilst the Ramadan vibe is wondrous, on closer examination, offering the Tarawīh in congregation but missing the obligatory prayers is cause for reflection.
In Episode 22, Shaykh Ali Hammuda discusses why so many people turn up to the Mosque for these night prayers and how we can use Ramadan to strengthen our five daily prayers.
Episode 22 drops on Thursday 13th April, 3PM BST.

Jazakallah khair, Shaykh Ali Hammuda, for this important reflection. The observation you’ve shared is indeed thought-provoking—many people seem to find it easier to attend Tarawīh in congregation than the five daily prayers.
A key factor, as you’ve alluded to, is the spiritual atmosphere and community encouragement during Ramadan. However, maintaining the five daily prayers outside of Ramadan becomes much simpler when a person has a reliable, easy-to-use tool to track prayer times throughout the year.
May Allah help us all prioritize the fard over the nafl, while still benefiting from both. Barakallah feek.
