Over the weekend, hundreds of people took to Parliament Square in Central London to stage one of the largest displays of civil disobedience in British history, protesting against the attempted criminalisation of activism against the Gaza genocide. [1]

474 people were arrested, including a number of pensioners and even the former Guantanamo detainee Moazzam Begg — who explained why he did it.

Dr. Asim Qureshi is a human rights lawyer who serves as Research Director at CAGE International. Dr. Qureshi has led investigations into Pakistan, Bosnia, Kenya, Sudan, Sweden, the US, and around the UK.
