It has returned as quickly as it left us last; with the confirmation of the moon being sighted this evening, the first fast of this year’s Ramadan will be observed on Monday, 11 March, and the first tarāwīh prayers will be held this evening, Sunday, 10 March.
As with all of those who engage with our content, we could not be happier. We thank Allah immensely, for allowing each and every one of us to reach this pivotal point in the Islamic calendar.
At this point, it is worth remembering that some of us are set to experience Ramadan for the first time ever, and for some of us, it is a recurring gift. Let’s be mindful of this and help Muslims around us to extract the most benefit from this blessed month.
Struggle to Strength campaign
You may have been following our Ramadan countdown over the past ten days, where thought-provoking tips have been offered to better prepare ourselves for this month.
But that was only the beginning of what we have in store for the coming four weeks.
As with past years, we have a jam-packed schedule that should provide plenty of transformational content through the form of daily articles, videos, Shorts, and graphics.
Trials Transformed
The above-titled article series will take on a different topic pertaining to a Prophet of Allah, a Companion, scholar, or other key figure on each day of the month.
They will be written by our newest contributor, Ustadh Hamad Chaudhry — who holds both a Bachelors in Sharī’ah from the European Institute of Human Sciences (EIHS) and a Masters from the Markfield Institute of Higher Education, and works at the Manchester Sharī’ah Council.
Be sure to keep an eye out for these special pieces, the website will be updated every day and links will be shared on all of our platforms!
Pathways to Power
This is the name of our Shorts series hosted by none other than Dr. Salman Butt, Head of Islamic Thought at Islam21c.
Each day, we will hear from an influential speaker or thinker and their own unique answer to the question,
“What is one thing that the Ummah needs to go from struggle to strength?”
You may find this series on all of our usual platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Telegram, and TikTok!
Metrics of Might
Continuing along the theme of transforming difficulties into strengths — particularly in light of the genocide being committed against our Gazan brothers and sisters since early October 2023 — we are keen to reveal a daily infographic series.
Join us as we revisit and remind you of incredible names including al-Battānī and al-Zarqālī — ingenious astronomers who pioneered the future of space exploration — on top of amazing milestones such as the hundreds of universities established by Muslims, even before the 15th century!
These graphics will be shared on the same platforms as the Pathways to Power series.
Struggle to Strength
In an eponymously-named daily video series, we are pleased to confirm that Shaykh Dr. Ali Ahmed — one of our key contributors and a judge at Islamic Council — will deliver inspirational lessons from our righteous ancestors.
Key topics that you can expect to be covered include patience, tawakkul, justice, accepting the Decree of Allah, having a mindset that never accepts defeat, and the power of du’ā in all circumstances.
Please do engage with these videos when you can spare the time. They will all be between 4-20 minutes in length, in order to ensure that they are as manageable for as many as possible during this special month!
Consider investing in Islam21c
We pray that all of the above special Ramadan content, in addition to our regular News coverage and Islamic Thought articles and videos, will be a route to reward for not only ourselves, but all of those who enjoy, learn, and practise that which is published.
And as with many other Muslim organisations, we rely upon donations from like-minded individuals in order to prosper.
So, this Ramadan, consider setting up a standing order or making a one-off donation in order to help us continue to provide transformational digital content that reaches more people and makes more of an impact within the Ummah.
